JEF Europe’s XXVIII Congress: A new chapter for Federalism!

From November 13 to 16, 2025, JEF Belgium joined two hundred young federalists in Strasbourg for the XXVIII JEF Europe Congress for four days of debates, decisions, and unforgettable shared moments.

Our section was proudly represented by Elsa Troullier (President) and Marta Grosso (International Officer) accompanied by Franziska Prinz

We took part in the outgoing and incoming Federal Committee meetings as well as the Congress itself, where we were involved in the election of the directly elected FC members and theEuropean Executive Bureau (EB).

What we worked on

This Congress was all about shaping the future of JEF Europe. Here is what we did in a nutshell:

We reviewed proposals from the different Political Commissions (PCs) and submitted amendments together with our partners (and friends) from JEF Netherlands and JEF Luxembourg.

During PC meetings, we defended these ideas and worked hard to build consensus across sections.

We welcomed four new sections: Moldavia, Georgia, Ukraine and wEUnite (JEF Austria), thanked the outgoing Board and former directly elected FC members for their incredible work, voted and elected a new team to lead JEF Europe forward and approved the resolutions we had debated.

But it was not all policy! We sang our anthem, danced, shared ideas and celebrated what makes our movement unique: our federalist spirit!

We left Strasbourg with fresh energy and commitment for JEF Belgium, new contacts and partnerships for future projects and a strong sense that Benelux cooperation is here to stay!

In that sense, the Congress was another occasion for JEF Benelux to get together and deepen our partnership: we worked together on policy and election strategy and proudly elected four Benelux representatives. This is just the beginning of a great federalist friendship!

A huge thank you to everyone who made this Congress a great success, and particularly JEF Europe Secretariat and JEF Strasbourg ?
